CNN Considers Political Correctness as a Factor in Ft. Hood Shootings?

On Wednesday’s Situation Room, CNN’s Brian Todd actually considered that political correctness prevented earlier action against Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Hasan. Despite referencing “a senior investigative official who…said he has never heard any indication…that Hasan got any favorable treatment…before this shooting,” Todd also cited three others who were certain of the political correctness factor.

The CNN correspondent did not lead his report with any mention of the possible PC treatment the Muslim army major might have received, a graphic on-screen hinted what was to come later in the report: “Hasan’s Contacts & Behavior Examined: ‘Political correctness’ a possible concern.”

Jeb Bush’s Sons to Hold Fundraiser for Crist Challenger in Florida Senate Race

Crist and Rubio, former speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, are facing off to fill the Senate seat vacated by former Sen. Mel Martinez.

The race has emerged as one of the pivotal battlegrounds between the more grassroots-driven conservative base of the GOP, represented by Rubio, and the more moderate wing, represented by Crist. That tension most recently flared in upstate New York’s 23rd Congressional District election, in which Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman basically forced Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava out of the race. Hoffman ended up losing last week to Democrat Bill Owens.

Does this mean that the GOP is spliting up? God, I hope so. It is time that we not only take our country back as conservatives, but have our own party. Our elected cockroaches are a party of one. We need more representation. I say we have a Commie Party, a Conservative Party, and then the Dems/Socialist party and last but not least the Republicrats. ho ah!!!!

Giant Crack in Africa Will Become New Ocean

Ok, all of you Eco-Nazi’s out there, this is a prime example of how our earth is constantly changing. It’s natural. Mother Nature is in control, not us, puny, humans.

A 35-mile rift in the desert of Ethiopia will eventually become a new ocean or sea, researchers now confirm.

The crack, 20 feet wide in spots, opened in 2005. Some geologists believed then that it would spawn a new ocean. But that view was controversial, and the rift had not been well studied.

A new study involving an international team of scientists and reported in the journal Geophysical Research Letters finds the processes creating the rift are nearly identical to what goes on at the bottom of oceans, further indication a new sea is in the region’s future.

The same rift activity is slowly parting the Red Sea, too.

On Monday’s AC360, CNN’s Anderson Cooper forwarded the media’s new talking point about the New York 23 congressional race, that “Tea Party protesters and other conservative voices are…driving moderates out of the GOP.” Correspondent Tom Foreman continued on this note, stating that “angry conservatives…[are] forcing the party to choose between…its base and attracting more moderate Americans.”

Hey Cooper, Conservatives do not want moderate Americans in a party that stands for Conservativism! Although, the Republicrats have been chipping away at their Conservative base for years. We want them to be mooorrree Conservative, Cooper, mooorree. You libs and moderates already have a party.

In an appearance at a Florida senior center Monday, the Democratic leader referred to the so-called public option as “the consumer option.” Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Florida Democrat, appeared by Pelosi’s side and used the term “competitive option.”

NBC’s Brian Williams allocated a few seconds Thursday night to how a new Pew Research Center for the People & the Press survey discovered the percent of Americans who, in his words, “believe there’s solid evidence of global warming…has dropped off significantly” while “the number of people who say they don’t believe in climate change at all has doubled in that time.” (If it’s a scientific issue, what does “belief” have to do with it?)

But instead of crediting Americans for recognizing the media-fueled case global warming is a threat has been undermined by reality since global temperatures have not risen an iota since 1998, Williams attributed the change to how “in a down economy, people are less sensitive to the environment.”

Just when you thought the White House couldn’t possibly do anything to make their bizarre feud with the Fox News Channel an even larger spectacle – the administration manages to take it to another level. On the Oct. 22 broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” host Bret Baier revealed a White House pool announcement was offering Kenneth Feinberg, the “Special Master for Compensation,” better known as the White House “pay czar” for interviews – all except for one network – Fox News.

Readers’ Ideas on Obama’s Nobel $ Award

I am always hesitant to take any article from “the old grey lady”, but this is kinda fun; In a sick political way. The fact that “our President”, or as I like to call him, “El Presidente”, wait, no, “Comrade Obama”, no, wait, wait, “The Great Socialist”, no, “the Great Community Organizer in charge,” no, no, no, “The Anointed One”, Oh what the helllll! He just has toooo many names so, here’s the article.

Of course, Saturday’s post wasn’t intended as a snarky directive to the White House. The president and his aides surely have their own ideas as to how to invest the prize money in various causes. This was merely an invitation to find out what issues/causes/foundations come to your minds when, and if, you pause to ponder donating such a sizable sum to something in sore need of a financial windfall.

And the suggestions do run the gamut, from financing more cancer research, to quite a few goals for improving education among children in the United States, to promoting international peace or reducing the nuclear weapons arsenal or tackling AIDS around the world. (And those simply contending that the funds could be used to pay down the national debt.)

To that aim, here reprinted are some of your recommendations, (a few excerpted, not in full):

I hope he gives it to “community trusts” in some of the cities/areas hurt most by the recession. (cleveland, detroit for example have had such trusts for a long long time) It could really make a difference and by giving it to a community trust; the leaders of those communities can decide which organizations would benefit most from grants. — Josie

At least 119 dead in South Pacific tsunami

,Ok, I’m going to tell you this part of the story, so you can get, “the rest of the story”. Shall we begin;

HONOLULU — The South Pacific earthquake hit at 6:48 a.m. Tuesday, followed 10 minutes later by the first of four killer waves that hit American Samoa, Samoa and Tonga.

They were not huge by Hawaii big-wave standards —, up to 20 feet according to Togiola Tulafono, the governor of American Samoa, who was in Honolulu Tuesday for a conference.

But in a low-lying, island nation of about 65,000 people, the kinetic energy of the earthquake-born waves was powerful enough to knock out a major bridge, destroy homes and major roads and send cars crashing into one another, Tulafono said.

GM to shut down Saturn after deal with Penske falls apart

This was one of the better car manufactures for at least a decade or more. But now, thanks to the Federal Government, a company that has been successful and thriving is going to go under. Good Job President G.W. Busch and Obama. Yes, I am not a two party person. I am a conservative. My elected cockroaches screwed up yet again. Oh wait, the American people screwed up, cause you Elected Them.

DETROIT — After months of negotiations aimed at saving the Saturn brand, General Motors said Wednesday it will stop making Saturn vehicles this year and wind down the brand by the end of 2010.

Saturn’s last hope, a sale to Penske Automotive Group, fell apart Wednesday afternoon. A Penske statement said it was notified that its tentative deal with an undisclosed automaker to supply vehicles to sell as Saturns had been rejected by that company’s board.

A deal signed in June for GM to sell the brand to the dealer chain run by entrepreneur and former race driver Roger Penske called for GM to supply Saturn’s current Aura, Outlook and Vue vehicles for two to three years. Penske was responsible for finding another supplier for vehicles after that.
