I had tears in my eyes as I watched several videos on Kelsey. I too have survived childhood abuse, and more recently I survived a very violent domestic violent relationship. To her Mother what a complete idiot. How can you stand there and blame the abuse on everyone around you? It angers me that she did nothing to protect her daughter and left her in the care of her step father the day she died.

To Lance, God Bless you, Not only for protecting our country, but for fighting for new laws in Oklahoma to prevent this from happening to another child. I had tears in my eyes as I watched several videos on Kelsey. I too have survived childhood abuse, and more recently I survived a very violent domestic violent relationship.

A mother's love is supposed to be the strongest and most binding love that is conceivable on earth, (aside from the love of God above) being that she carried the child in her womb for nine months and nutured and nursed her in infancy. It is an abberation that a mother can tolerate, allow, or participate in any such abuse of a toddler that is completely innocent and defenseless against a grown man. And for that instance, for any man to be dispicable enough to lay a hand on a defenseless child- well, really you are not a man because you choose a battle that is a no contest for you. As so many others have stated, you will get your dues coming to you. There is no mercy for those that harm the innocent children among this earth. And to Kelsey's family, the true family that fought FOR her and PROTECTED her, my prayers and thoughts go out to you. I used to work at a daycare and I have seen countless children be ignored by the directors of the facilities and DSS. One child I had in particular was sexually abused-obviously sexually abused. I informed my director, the asst. director, the asst. teacher in my room to help me watch her closely, and the mother so she could do something. Everyone assured me it would be taken care of but after two weeks of hearing nothing and the child continuously coming in with evidence of further abuse--I took matters into my own hands. I called DSS, reported the negligence of the mother and the daycare for doing anything- needless to say, I lost my job but the child was taken care of and is now with grandparents that would move the earth for her. It broke my heart watching an outgoing and exhuberant child change and melt away into a scared and broken hollow shell. Too many cries go unheard, and too many backs are turned, and eyes are closed. Nothing will change without those of us that are willing to fight back- so I applaud the family for their neverending fight, I applaud those individuals that are helping to fight for other defenseless children now, and I applaud those that support a pray for a change and those out there fighting for it.
