The Minuteman Project

The Minuteman Project, for those that do not know, is a group of volunteer U.S. citizens temporarily guarding the U.S. Mexican border to stop illegal immigration into the U.S. The rules they follow do not allow any physical contact with the illegal immigrants. They simply inform the border patrol of their presence.

Allot of wacko politics has surrounded this concept. They are armed vigilantes! It is true some of them are armed as allowed by Arizona state law, however they are not using those arms against the illegal immigrants. I am sure if they were attacked they would use it in self defense; but this has not happened. Why is it that U.S. citizens who are volunteering their time to help keep people from illegally entering their country vigilantes? Why not patriots? Why not heroes? I cannot understand this sub culture in our society that thinks it is the Mexican peopleâââs right to illegally enter our country! What kind of moronic thinking is that? What part of the U.S. constitution does the ACLU and our Government not understand? The power lies in ââÅWe the peopleââ?. So if ââÅwe the peopleââ? see something that needs to be done in our country, ââÅwe the peopleââ? have every right to do something about it.

Article. IV., Section. 4. of The Constitution States: ââÅThe United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violenceââ?.

Article ten of the U.S. Constitution specifically states: ââÅThe powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the peopleââ?.

I think millions of illegal immigrants crossing our border every year qualifies as an invasion! So, ââÅwe the peopleââ? are doing what our government has failed to do, protect our states from invasion.

Did you know that there have been 500 instances in which our troops have had to stop training for duty in Iraq, because of illegal immigrants crossing the border on Federal lands, designated for our military to train? Yup, and they donââât do a dang thing to stop the illegal immigrants. Their orders are to make sure they do not hurt them. If it wasnââât so terribly horrid, it would be laughable.

Mexicoâââs President Fox condemned any citizen group that would dare to “defy” his political goal of open borders. Of Course this violates U.S. Immigration laws, 8 USC 1324, 1325 and 1326.

Since the Minute Men have been on the border they have helped in the capture of numerous illegal immigrants and the Mexican army has been deployed to turn illegal immigrants back from the border. It sounds to me like they have already made their point. A simple presence on the border is all that is needed to stop this invasion! We should do exactly what the Mexican Government did on their southern border, put the army on it! Well, the National Guard in our case.
