Another one of President Obama’s unholy alliances.
From World Net Daily:
President Obama’s nominee to head the Transportation Security Administration previously boasted to a major union that he looked forward to “joining” with them to add value to TSA security, WND has learned.
In Senate hearings, nominee Erroll Southers has avoided giving a “yes” or “no” answer over whether he would unionize airport security workers. Unions across the U.S., however, have been lobbying hard for Southers’ confirmation.
Critics charge unionizing airport security would impose rules on union workers that could impede national security efforts in combating terrorist threats.
Southers is assistant chief in charge of security and intelligence at the Los Angeles airport’s police department.
Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C, placed a “hold” on Southers confirmation over concerns he could undermine safety by unionizing airport security.

I reported on this volcano last week and just thought I would keep ya’all updated.
From Fox News:
Fewer earthquakes have been recorded in the Philippines’ lava-spilling Mayon volcano, but the local scientists still believe an eruption to be imminent.
In response to the continued seismic activity at the volcano, Albay Governor Joey Salceda cut off the electricity and water supplies within the extended and permanent danger zones around Mayon Volcano yesterday evening, reports the Manila Bulletin.
Salceda told the paper that the move was designed to is to ensure that people remain away from their homes and out of the danger zone. Reportedly, many evacuees have returned to their homes for the New Year’s.

I know that this story is still evolving and I do not like to report on something until I can get “the rest of the story”. Buuuttt, this news article has some juicy background on this nut job terrorist.
From The Independent:
With his wealth, privilege and education at one of Britain’s leading universities, Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab had the world at his feet – able to choose from a range of futures in which to make his mark on the world.
Instead, the son of one of Nigeria’s most important figures opted to make his impact in a very different way – by detonating 80g of explosives sewn into his underpants, and trying to destroy a passenger jet as it came in to land at Detroit Airport on Christmas Day.
As he was charged by US authorities last night with attempting to blow up an airliner, a surprising picture emerged of the would-be bomber.

Iraqi troops say they will defend the well, where Iranian troops raised a flag for several days this month.
It is unclear how many troops are involved in the stand-off, but as many as 30 lightly armed Iraqi troops usually occupy border outposts in sensitive areas, and up to 10 in other areas. Some 11 Iranian soldiers are stationed near the disputed well.
The seizure of the well, which Iraq says is part of its Fakka oilfield in southeast Maysan province, triggered protests from the government in Baghdad and caused a rise in prices on jittery world oil markets.
The Iranian forces have since pulled back, but Iraq says they are still on its territory, stirring echoes of the border dispute that led to the eight-year Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s, in which about 1 million people died.
“These wells in the Fakka region are Iraqi, and we will defend them to the last drop of blood,” said Brigadier-General Razak Abdul Hassan of the Iraqi border guards at Fakka.
The Iranians are 100 meters inside Iraqi territory, he said, some 80 meters from the disputed well. Iraqi troops watch from nearby, and both sides appear to be hunkered down behind earth walls at their bleak desert outposts.
We are not hearing too much about this situation. I am glad that the Iraqi’s are stepping up to protect their property, but I do think that the USA should be fighting side by side with them against Iran. This is one time that it would be absolutely justifiable. But, I have no idea what this administration is going to do. They hate the troops.

From The Hill:
Al Franken, the Democrat from Minnesota who won election to the Senate after a successful career as a comic and author, has begun to show the sharp-tongued side of his personality by ripping into GOP staffers behind the scenes.
Franken has worked diligently to keep a low public profile in Congress while focusing on wonky policy debates. But he has been unable to completely repress the fiery passion that made him a hero of the Democratic Party’s liberal base.
Stuart Smalley Sharp-tongued!!! The man is a left wing liberal socialist commie. And anyone can be mean. I am tired of the left thinking they are all that, and way more intelligent than conservatives. Stuart Smalley got his head flushed in a toilet too many times and hasn’t gotten over it. I cannot believe he was elected to the Senate by the people of Minnesota. In fact, I don’t believe it. I think the election was rigged.

Merry Christmas All.
From Fox News:
Father Tim Jones, a 41-year-old clergyman at St. Lawrence Church in York, England, said that shoplifting — rather than prostitution or burglary — is sometimes the best option for poor people struggling to make ends meet, according to the Web site.
“My advice as a Christian priest is to shoplift,” Jones reportedly told churchgoers during his Sunday sermon. “I do not offer such advice because I think that stealing is a good thing, or because I think it is harmless, for it is neither.”
“I would ask that they do not steal from small family businesses, but from large national businesses — knowing that the costs are ultimately passed on to the rest of us in the form of higher prices,” he continued.
This man is not a Christian. He is a left wing nut job that needs to be “tarred and feathered and de-robed”. Jesus is not pleased folks.
This entire issue is “unconstitutional”. First of all, there should be no way your constitutional rights fly away into the sky the minute you board a plane. Did my readers know that? Yea, you are under federal law, and the captain of the plane gets to decide what you can and cannot do. Wonderful huh?
From The AP;
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration took aim Monday at tarmac horror stories, ordering airlines to let passengers stuck in stranded airplanes get off the plane after three hours.
With its new regulations, the Transportation Department sent an unequivocal message on the eve of the busy holiday travel season: Don’t hold travelers hostage to delayed flights.
“Airline passengers have rights, and these new rules will require airlines to live up to their obligation to treat their customers fairly,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement.
Under the new regulations, airlines would be fined $27,500 per passenger for each violation of the three-hour limit, LaHood said.
The Air Transport Association, a trade group that represents U.S. airlines, said in a statement that carriers would comply with the new rule even though the group contends it will lead to canceled flights and greater passenger inconvenience.
If I want to get off the plane, I should be able to get off the plane. The Transportation Dept. is unconstitutional, therefore anything they mandate is unconstitutional. We want our country back!!!!
