Country Musician Charlie Daniels Suffers Mild Stroke

The best way to combat a stroke is to get immediate medical attention. And it sounds like he did.

Fiddler-guitarist Charlie Daniels said he suffered a mild stroke while snowmobiling in Colorado and has some stiffness and numbness in his left hand and arm.

Daniels, 73, suffered the stroke Friday just outside Durango, about 230 miles southwest of Denver. He was treated at a local hospital then airlifted to a Denver hospital, where he was released on Sunday.

In a posting on his Web site Wednesday, Daniels said he was starting physical therapy. He didn’t say whether his playing had been affected but wrote, “I’m doing fine.”

Another statement on the Web site says he doesn’t plan to cancel any concerts. His next appearance is scheduled for Feb. 27 in Fort Pierce, Fla.

Good for him. I know he always appears in Sean Hannity’s concert series every year, I’m glad he will be able to do it again. The proceeds go to a good cause.

How the Media is attacking and is being attacked

I am going to compile stories from NewsBusters.org about the recent attacks to and from the media. I know, my readers, again, I have not been blogging for a while; I’m trying to get us set up here on the mountain for the winter. Ya know hauling food, ect… Sorry. I am in Chipmunk/Squirrel mode. He, He, He. Soooo let’s begin.

From Newsbusters;

NBC’s Brian Williams allocated a few seconds Thursday night to how a new Pew Research Center for the People & the Press survey discovered the percent of Americans who, in his words, “believe there’s solid evidence of global warming…has dropped off significantly” while “the number of people who say they don’t believe in climate change at all has doubled in that time.” (If it’s a scientific issue, what does “belief” have to do with it?)

But instead of crediting Americans for recognizing the media-fueled case global warming is a threat has been undermined by reality since global temperatures have not risen an iota since 1998, Williams attributed the change to how “in a down economy, people are less sensitive to the environment.”

Serious Dumb Ass commentator. Let’ move on to the next one.

Just when you thought the White House couldn’t possibly do anything to make their bizarre feud with the Fox News Channel an even larger spectacle – the administration manages to take it to another level. On the Oct. 22 broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” host Bret Baier revealed a White House pool announcement was offering Kenneth Feinberg, the “Special Master for Compensation,” better known as the White House “pay czar” for interviews – all except for one network – Fox News.

Serious Dumb Ass White House. And then there is this.

Is there no depth MSNBC’s Chris Matthews won’t sink to?
Judging from a truly disgraceful comment he made on Thursday’s “Hardball,” the answer has got to be a resounding “NO!
MATTHEWS: That’s not fair. The group in this country that most resembles the Taliban, ironically, is the religious right.

I show you, my readers, then let you decide.:)

Captured Insane Killer Duped Friend to Escape

I worked as an evening Nurse Supervisor for four years at a facility that housed Developmentally Disabled adults. Although most of them were more like children. Some were violent, some were sex offenders, and some were, well, just plain crazy. They lived in houses that are much nicer than any house I ever lived in and they got to destroy them and their contents on a regular basis. Then, the State would just pay to repair and replace that which was destroyed. Needless to say, I quit. There was a lot of things about that job that bothered me, but the one that really got to me was; How in the hell could they put a facility without gates or fences next to a High School and keep sex offenders there?

SEATTLE — An insane killer who slipped away from the staff of a mental institution during a trip to a county fair was recaptured Sunday, three days after he escaped his monitors — and more than 180 miles away.

With a helicopter overhead and dozens of federal, state and local law enforcement officers swarming around Goldendale, 47-year-old Phillip Arnold Paul walked out to a highway in south-central Washington state just as search personnel arrived at the scene, Klickitat County Sheriff Rick McComas said.

“He came out of the brush, onto the roadway, as law enforcement officers were going by,” McComas told The Associated Press. “His intent was to voluntarily give himself up because he knew we were going to find him.”

But Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie D. Knezovich said Paul had just tried to thumb a ride from an area resident who alerted authorities, and seemed to be trying to remain on the loose.

Paul had told a friend in Spokane for months that he was going to be released from the Eastern State State, a mental institution. He went to the friend’s house Thursday after escaping during the Spokane County Interstate Fair, Knezovich said in a release.

Liberals Pressure Schwarzenegger to Proclaim ‘Harvey Milk Day’

Oh my goodness, the gays in this country are a piece of work, I’ll tell ya what. Do they think the louder they scream “you must accept us, you must love our way of life, you must teach your kids about Homo sex”, that it will help their case to win over the hearts and minds of Americans? How has that been working for them so far?

From Newsmax ;

California Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger finds himself in the middle of America’s culture war.

Schwarzenegger will soon decide whether to sign legislation designating May 22 as “Harvey Milk Day.”

The day would honor the first openly gay person elected to U.S. public office.

But a coalition of conservative and outraged Christian groups claim that the commemoration is intended to promote the gay and lesbian life style in public schools.

Patrick Swayze Dies of Pancreatic Cancer at 57

We are losing our Hollywood Icons folks. There is few role models for our children in Hollywood left. My Uncooperative Husband and our generation will officially be the last generation to have good messages from what we view on the “big screen”. God bless you Patrick, may your journey home be swift.

From The AP :

LOS ANGELES — Patrick Swayze personified a particular kind of masculine grace both on and off screen, from his roles in films like “Dirty Dancing” and “Ghost” to the way he carried himself in his long fight with pancreatic cancer.

Swayze died from the illness on Monday in Los Angeles, his publicist said. He was 57.

“Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months,” Annett Wolf said in a statement Monday evening. She declined to give details.

Fans of the actor were saddened to learn in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from an especially deadly form of cancer. He continued working despite the diagnosis, putting together a memoir with his wife and shooting “The Beast,” an A&E network drama series for which he had already made the pilot.

Ethiopian church speaks out on Ark of the Covenant

I knew as well as everyone else who has heard about this story, that it was going to drag on. Now the Ethiopian’s say that the Ten Commandments box will not be displayed. Oh Lordy, Lordy.

From WND

There was considerable confusion last week when the leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church apparently told an Italian news agency of an upcoming announcement about the possible public display of the Ark of the Covenant – the box holding the Ten Commandments – and then the prescribed time passed with no word.

However, there was no equivocation today in an e-mail received by WND from the webmaster of a church website in response to an inquiry about the truth of the matter.

“It is not going to happen so the world has to live with curiosity,” said the statement, signed only “Webmaster” in response to the WND inquiry.

The webmaster statement described the tempest as being caused either because of a translation mistake or “a slip [of the] tongue from the patriarch.” WND reported first when the apparent “revelation” was to be announced and then again later when the scheduled time came and went without word.

I wonder where this will finally end. I wonder why the rest of the “lame stream media” are not talking about this at all. Could it be they are too busy with their noses up our President’s butt? If any of my intelligent readers out there here about another source for this story. could ya put a link in the comment section. Thanks.

Bible buzz begins as Ark hunters wait to view Ten Commandments box

We’re watching the History Channel this early afternoon, Mountain time and they are doing a special about the Seven Signs of the Apocalypse and then I find this article. ooooo, spooky.

Ark hunters and Bible enthusiasts are buzzing about a report that the Ark of the Covenant, the ancient container that holds the Ten Commandments, is expected to be unveiled in Rome today.

As WND reported, the patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world the unveiling of the Ark, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, “Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries.”

Can it be true? We will have to wait and see. For those who believe the end is near, this will be huge. I wonder how the Israelis will react? I mean this discovery could really change the world. Think about all the people that do not believe in God, how would they explain this away? And what would the Muslim world do about this revelation? Ah, we really do live in interesting times. Hey, isn’t that a Chinese Curse!
