Dying Patient Was Refused A Glass Of Water

Something to look forward to here in America…

From Sky News:

A dying patient had to ring a hospital switchboard on his mobile to ask for a glass of water, after nurses ignored his pleas.

Officials from the South London NHS Trust have apologised to the family of Derek Sauter, who later died in hospital of pneumonia.

The 60-year-old did not receive a “proper and professional standard of care” when he was admitted with a chest infection in June 2008.

A formal investigation is being conducted into his death, after it was found his oxygen levels went unchecked for 11 hours and were 35% lower than recommended.

Ruth Sauter, the patient’s daughter, said she was disgusted by the treatment her father had received.

She told The Daily Mail: “His condition was not life threatening, and nurses had specific instructions to keep close tabs on him.

“‘But their appalling lack of care, and cruel behaviour killed my father…It’s so much worse knowing that he died alone, thirsty and scared on that ward.”

After being admitted in the morning, he was given antibiotics and oxygen, but was later forced to ring his wife to tell her that he was not allowed any more water as he had earlier knocked over a cup.

After ringing the switchboard, a doctor was called to the ward, only for a nurse to tell him that the patient was “overreacting”.

This is what comes from socialized medicine and we are marching towards it. The Fed. Govt. is going to be telling doctors what they can and cannot do as to treatments and in this health care bill there is no appeal! Even Canada allows an appeal of the Government’s medical panel decisions.

We can only hope the supreme court does the right thing and find the Bill unconstitutional. If you people want government run health care than amend the Constitution otherwise it is unconstitutional!

Wealthy, quiet, unassuming: the Christmas Day bomb suspect

I know that this story is still evolving and I do not like to report on something until I can get “the rest of the story”. Buuuttt, this news article has some juicy background on this nut job terrorist.

From The Independent:

With his wealth, privilege and education at one of Britain’s leading universities, Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab had the world at his feet – able to choose from a range of futures in which to make his mark on the world.

Instead, the son of one of Nigeria’s most important figures opted to make his impact in a very different way – by detonating 80g of explosives sewn into his underpants, and trying to destroy a passenger jet as it came in to land at Detroit Airport on Christmas Day.

As he was charged by US authorities last night with attempting to blow up an airliner, a surprising picture emerged of the would-be bomber.

Giant Crack in Africa Will Become New Ocean

Ok, all of you Eco-Nazi’s out there, this is a prime example of how our earth is constantly changing. It’s natural. Mother Nature is in control, not us, puny, humans.

from Live Science:

A 35-mile rift in the desert of Ethiopia will eventually become a new ocean or sea, researchers now confirm.

The crack, 20 feet wide in spots, opened in 2005. Some geologists believed then that it would spawn a new ocean. But that view was controversial, and the rift had not been well studied.

A new study involving an international team of scientists and reported in the journal Geophysical Research Letters finds the processes creating the rift are nearly identical to what goes on at the bottom of oceans, further indication a new sea is in the region’s future.

The same rift activity is slowly parting the Red Sea, too.

White House Blasts ‘Disgusting’ Crowds Embracing Lockerbie Bomber in Libya

This is exactly what the families of his victim’s said would happen if he was released. Now every “nut job”, Muslim terrorist will feel empowered.

The White House blasted the jubilant, flag-waving Libyan crowds that greeted Pan Am bomber Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, who was convicted in the 1988 killing of 270 people but is being embraced in Libya as a returning hero.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the elaborate homecoming in Tripoli for al-Megrahi was “outrageous and disgusting” — offensive to all the families of those killed in the 1988 Lockerbie attack.

As al-Megrahi woke up a free man Friday morning, Scots expressed their “shame” at their government’s early release of the Libyan national, who was set free on compassionate grounds and flown back to die of cancer at home rather than behind bars.

This is a prime example why “Club Gitmo” must remain open and under United States control. You can take my tax money and pay for that, President Oboma. The rest of the world cannot be trusted to harbor these monsters. Only we can. We do not torture them, and we do not set them free so that they can kill more innocent men, women, and children.

Hillary Clinton: I’m Secretary of State, Not Bill

I Looooovvvveee it!!!! Sweeeettt!!

From Fox News:

KINSHASA, Congo — U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s temper flared on Monday when a Congolese university student asked her for her husband’s thinking on an international financial matter.

A week after former President Bill Clinton traveled to North Korea to secure the release of two detained American journalists and stole the limelight from the start of his wife’s first trip to Africa, Clinton was clearly displeased by the question at town hall forum in Kinshasa.

“You want me to tell you what my husband thinks?” she replied incredulously when the male student asked her what “Mr. Clinton” thought of World Bank concerns about a multi-billion-dollar Chinese loan offer to the Congo.

Is there trouble in paradise? But seriously, what kind of political game are these two playing? I never understood why Billy Boy would ever stand back stage to Killary. I mean, I know they had some kind of deal, you all should read the book, Bitter Legacy; NewsMax reveals the untold story of the Clinton-Gore years. Its a goodin.

“My husband is not secretary of state, I am,” an obviously annoyed Clinton said sharply. “If you want my opinion, I will tell you my opinion. I am not going to be channeling my husband.”

Iran Awaits Ayatollah’s Nod to Build Atomic Bomb

Now, while the Lame Stream Media and the rest of the world “speculates”, I will let my learned readers “decide”. After, I have asked the following questions: How do we know they do not already have such a weapon? Just because the media and the powers that be around the world say so? And, what great plan does the “world” have for stopping them if they do?

From the Times of London:

Iran has perfected the technology to create and detonate a nuclear warhead and is merely awaiting the word from its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, to produce its first bomb, Western intelligence sources have told The Times of London.

The sources said that Iran completed a research programme to create weaponised uranium in the summer of 2003 and that it could feasibly make a bomb within a year of an order from its Supreme Leader.

A U.S. National Intelligence Estimate two years ago concluded that Iran had ended its nuclear arms research programme in 2003 because of the threat from the American invasion of Iraq. But intelligence sources have told The Times that Tehran had halted the research because it had achieved its aim — to find a way of detonating a warhead that could be launched on its long-range Shehab-3 missiles.

CNSNews.com Congresswoman Backs New Equal Rights Amendment; Points to Afghanistan, China as Models

Woman already have equal rights here. And this Amendment has been introduced in Congress every year since 1921, why do you suppose it hasn’t passed?

From CNSNews:

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) told activists rallying on Capitol Hill in support of the newly reintroduced Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), that the United States should join 27 other countries that have equality guarantees for women, including Rwanda, Algeria, China and Afghanistan.

“It does make a difference if an Equal Rights Amendment is in place or not,” Lee told the people who gathered outside of the Capitol on Tuesday.

“Twenty-seven other countries, including Rwanda, Afghanistan, Algeria and China have equality provisions,” Lee said.

Lee said she’s worked with Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) to ensure that the new Democratic government in Afghanistan addressed women’s rights.

“Even though we have many strides to make in Afghanistan that the women would at least have a place holder,” Lee said. “We know we are still fighting for equality and justice, but we insisted on a placeholder.

“Is America any less, that we should have more than a placeholder with the equal rights amendment?” Lee said.

According to the State Department’s 2008 report on human rights, the four countries cited by Jackson Lee are in fact described as nations where women face grave injustices, including rape, domestic abuse, and trafficking for prostitution.

Ethiopian church speaks out on Ark of the Covenant

I knew as well as everyone else who has heard about this story, that it was going to drag on. Now the Ethiopian’s say that the Ten Commandments box will not be displayed. Oh Lordy, Lordy.

From WND

There was considerable confusion last week when the leader of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church apparently told an Italian news agency of an upcoming announcement about the possible public display of the Ark of the Covenant – the box holding the Ten Commandments – and then the prescribed time passed with no word.

However, there was no equivocation today in an e-mail received by WND from the webmaster of a church website in response to an inquiry about the truth of the matter.

“It is not going to happen so the world has to live with curiosity,” said the statement, signed only “Webmaster” in response to the WND inquiry.

The webmaster statement described the tempest as being caused either because of a translation mistake or “a slip [of the] tongue from the patriarch.” WND reported first when the apparent “revelation” was to be announced and then again later when the scheduled time came and went without word.

I wonder where this will finally end. I wonder why the rest of the “lame stream media” are not talking about this at all. Could it be they are too busy with their noses up our President’s butt? If any of my intelligent readers out there here about another source for this story. could ya put a link in the comment section. Thanks.

Bible buzz begins as Ark hunters wait to view Ten Commandments box

We’re watching the History Channel this early afternoon, Mountain time and they are doing a special about the Seven Signs of the Apocalypse and then I find this article. ooooo, spooky.

Ark hunters and Bible enthusiasts are buzzing about a report that the Ark of the Covenant, the ancient container that holds the Ten Commandments, is expected to be unveiled in Rome today.

As WND reported, the patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world the unveiling of the Ark, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.

Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, “Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries.”

Can it be true? We will have to wait and see. For those who believe the end is near, this will be huge. I wonder how the Israelis will react? I mean this discovery could really change the world. Think about all the people that do not believe in God, how would they explain this away? And what would the Muslim world do about this revelation? Ah, we really do live in interesting times. Hey, isn’t that a Chinese Curse!

Blair: China Adopting a More Aggressive Military Stance

Susan here and it’s good to have a Clinton back in the White House. Isn’t it folks. Read the following article and relive the good old days.

From Fox News:

National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair told Congress Tuesday that China’s alleged harassment of an unarmed U.S. Navy craft is the “most serious” he’s seen in eight years, warning that China appears to have adopted a more aggressive military stance.

“The Chinese trajectory there has changed in a somewhat more aggressive way in the past several years from what we had seen earlier,” he said, specifically pointing to activity in the South China Sea. “They seem to be more … military, aggressive, forward-pushing than we saw a couple of years before.”

Blair said the debate is still open as to whether China’s military power will be “used for good or for pushing people around.”

His testimony to the Senate Armed Services Committee comes after the Pentagon accused five Chinese ships of harassing an unarmed U.S. Navy craft in international waters. Blair said the incident is the worst since a U.S. spy plane and crew were detained in 2001.

Here we go again and oh, China is not our friend.
