Global economy menaced by return of living dead

This article is complicated, but a must read because it is important and effects every aspect of our lives. We must prepare people. Get out of debt if you can and become more self reliant.
From the financial times.com

The global economy is being hobbled by a new generation of zombies – the economic walking dead. American consumers are in the early stages of an unprecedented retrenchment. In the 13 quarters since the beginning of 2008, inflation-adjusted annualised growth in consumption has averaged just 0.5 per cent. Never before in the postwar era have US consumers been this weak for this long.

The zombie syndrome has an important antecedent. It was, in fact, a key symptom of the Japan disease, which led to the first of two lost decades for that country. Encouraged by the government, Japanese banks kept extending credit lines for a broad cross-section of insolvent companies – postponing restructuring and inevitable failure.

I’m loving the Zombie analogy. But it’s creepy how much Zombies are being talked about these days. Recall the CDC educational video? And the Zombie flash mobs?

Oh, and by the way, it is Unconstitutional to televise the State of the Union Address. It was only meant to be given to the congress and the senate. Not to “we the people”. We will review this on our radio show this Thursday 1/27/11 @7pmest, on uncooperativeradio.com.

obama-whines-american-journalists-never-say-thank-you

My President is not only the “Great Apologizer” and the “Great Obownater”, he is now the “Great Whiner”. Thank you my fellow citizens for this one.
From Newsbusters.org:

President Barack Obama is peeved with the American press. They never say “thank you,” he whined to journalists in Japan on Monday.

According to the pool report from the press conference, one reporter said “Thank you, Mr. President.” Someone said the reporter was Australian.

“I knew it must have been an Australian because my folks never say thank you,” Obama said.

At that, the entire American pool said in unison — admittedly with a bit of sarcasm — “Thank you, Mr. President.”

PM Gillard could be heard chiming in, “There are a few cheeky Australians here.”

At first glance, Obama’s comment reeks of arrogance. He seems to think that press access is a privilege, not a right, and that he is under no obligation to even speak to reporters.

I know all you libs out there are screaming at the top of your Obama loving lungs. STOP PICKING ON PRESIDENT OBAMA!!! Oh wait, you guys are pissed off at him too. What a great “uniter” he has turned out to be. Oh,Oh,wait, he is uniting us. He’s uniting everyone that is Pissed off at him. Good job my president, you really do mean what you say.

Will the U.S. Adopt a Value-Added Tax?

Just one more creative and sneaky way to tax us. Enough is enough. How many of you have your signs ready for tomorrows rally on our elected cockroaches in Washington?
From cbsnews.com:

A VAT can be assessed in several different ways. In the most common method, the VAT is assessed on a good at each stage of production and distribution — when the raw material is sold, when the product is manufactured, when a store stocks up, and when the consumer buys it. When a business calculates its VAT payment, it deducts the tax paid at the previous stage, based on records every company along the chain keeps. That’s one reason the VAT is considered highly efficient — it’s hard to dodge since each link in the VAT chain keeps an eye on the rest.

This process effectively hides the VAT from open view — unlike state sales taxes, the VAT is buried in the price of the good, not assessed at the cash register. But make no mistake: a 10 percent VAT would raise the cost of everything 10 percent. (High VAT taxes back home are one reason that Europeans love to shop in the U.S.) A VAT is also relatively simple to administer, so its “dead weight” — the distortion it imposes on the economy above and beyond the price of the tax itself — is minimal.

This is actually an informative article, go read it and arm yourself against the progressives that want to destroy, this great country. The article also explains why Canadians come to the U.S. to shop.

Iceland expected to turn down $5.3B bank failure repay

This confused me until I read the entire article. And to tell you the truth, I had no idea how many countries in Europe bailed out other countries. And I did not know how many countries needed to be bailed out.

From USA Today;

REYKJAVIK, Iceland (AP) — Still smarting from the crippling aftermath of the global financial crisis, grudging Icelanders were expected Saturday to vote down a $5.3 billion plan to pay off Britain and the Netherlands for debts spawned by the collapse of an Icelandic Internet bank.

The resounding “no” vote expected at the referendum is indicative of how angry many Icelanders are as the tiny island nation struggles to recover from a deep recession. The global financial crisis wreaked political and economic havoc on Iceland, as its banks collapsed within the space of a week in October 2008 and its currency, the krona, plummeted. The Icelandic government was the first to fall as a result of the meltdown. The deal would require each person to pay around $135 a month for eight years — the equivalent of a quarter of an average four-member family’s salary.

In case your not aware, this is happening to us. China and Japan own our debt. What do you think will happen to us if they want it repaid?

Last-minute talks between Iceland, Britain and the Netherlands broke down this week, despite the debtor countries saying they offered better terms — including a significant cut on the 5.5% interest rate in the original deal hammered out at the end of last year.

The British say their “best and final offer has been turned down.”

But Iceland continues to hold out for more, aware that any new deal must win substantial political and public support.

Official: Kim’s Youngest Son Apparent Successor in North Korea

Kim Jong II’s crazy offspring to ruulllle the world. Yea! Oh come on people, Brian and I have done “the story according to Kim” many times on this blog and on our Radio Show. The man is insane, so it’s not a leap to think that his offspring is “more” insane.

From Fox News:

North Korea has told top officials to pledge allegiance to Kim Jong Il’s youngest son, apparently setting him up to succeed his 67-year-old father.

A senior U.S. intelligence official confirmed South Korean media reports that the secretive communist state was sending “guidance” to its missions in foreign countries to swear fealty to 26-year-old Kim Jong Un as the next leader of North Korea.

“The directive went out,” the official told FOX News. “This guidance isn’t a suggestion — it’s an order.”

The official described the directive as a milestone in the history of North Korea. But the official contradicted a Reuters report that suggested North Korea would ratchet down tensions and enter talks over its nuclear program, having worked out its line of succession.

The “News Behind the News”, in this case is the reason that he picked his youngest son. His two elder son’s were becoming “moderinzed”. One even went to Japan without his father’s permission to go to Tokyo Disneyland, Ah, those rebellious teenagers, I mean “middle aged” children.

CNSNews.com VA Hospital Pulls ‘Japs Surrender’ Headline from Historical Display

Susan here. This is yet again another example of political correctness gone “wild”. The thought police have decided that it is better for our country to “not offend” anyone than it is to tell the truth. Read on MacBeth.

From CNSNews:

The director of the VA hospital in Indianapolis has removed a World War II-era newspaper front page from a historical display at the hospital because it contains the headline, “Japs Surrender.”

The hospital has replaced it with another newspaper, whose headline says “Peace.”

Linda Jeffrey, the public affairs officer at the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, explained the action.

“We have a hallway in our outpatient clinics that has a lot of different military memorabilia–artifacts if you will. Some of them are newspaper ads–Buy Bonds!’–and things like that. This particular artifact was an original newspaper story from the Indianapolis Times, dated Aug. 14, 1945,” Jeffrey told CNSNews.com.

The item had been on display for 10 years, she said, until a month ago.

“One of our new employees contacted the director, Tom Mattice, and told him that particular military memorabilia was particularly offensive to people of Japanese origin. So our director asked that we take it down,” Jeffrey added.

Local Marine Corps veterans were outraged.

Indiana vet Bud Albright told CNSNews.com that the removal is offensive to those who fought against the Japanese in defense of American freedom.

“A large majority of the veterans feel it was an insult to them and the people that died during that war,” Albright told CNSNews.com.

No kidding they are outraged. Look, the Japanese attack us. Japanese ambassadors where in the United States trying to negotiate with us when the attack happened. That’s one of the reasons they were called “yellow devils”. Oh no, is this blog going to be erased now. 🙂 Anyho, get over yourselves minorities. And here’s a thought. You should all be Americans now, no matter where your parents and grandparents came from. So, in essence you were attacked also. Ponder that one a while.
